Pantone Color of the Year: Greenery

Meredith Anderson

Every year, the wedding industry waits with anticipation as Pantone announces their “Color of the Year.” The selected color is often on-trend, and will be reflected in events for that coming year. We at Country Club Receptions could not be more excited for this year’s selection – Greenery.

What a wonderful year to get married at one of our properties! You would be hard-pressed to find more “Greenery” than a golf course as your backdrop!

All current wedding trends for 2017 are pointing towards using Greenery in florals as ceremony & table décor, and as a natural “pop” of color for both indoor and outdoor receptions.  Golf courses, country clubs, garden settings, and plentiful trees add an element of “Greenery” to your big day.

The “rustic chic” wedding is still as popular as ever, but even the most “glam” wedding can use elements of Greenery to impress your guests. Whether you are looking for a statement piece such as an elaborate floral wall, or a more subtle touch, such as mismatched floral china and green stemware, Greenery will be popping up at weddings throughout 2017.

Ways to use “Greenery”:

  • ‪Ceremony arches or chuppah (canopy) covered in ivy
  • Leafy green garlands draped down long tables
  • Satin green napkins or linens
  • Succulents as favors, centerpieces, or cake décor
  • Ample greens used in bouquets or boutonnieres
  • Florals hanging from chandeliers overhead
  • Use of green hedges to separate event spaces, or as a backdrop for a sweetheart table/cake & dessert table
  • Floral walls utilizing ivy or leaves in addition to the blooms
  • Floral-printed china and mismatched green stemware
  • Ivy/Floral crowns for flower girls and/or bridesmaids
  • Setting - golf course, trees, gardens, etc.

We can’t wait to see what kind of unique “greenery” wedding inspiration we will see this year.
