DIY Wedding Trends for Fall and Winter

Anne Handley

Here are some fun themes you can do without a fancy event planner if you’re having your wedding during the heavy on–the-holidays season.

Pumpkins

They are great for using as aisle markers, as well as easy decorations for your fall wedding. The colors are beautiful and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes that can be used in many different ways.

Greenery and Berry Crowns /Bouquets

Instead of a floral crown for your flower girl use some fall or winter greenery along with berries for a seasonal change.

Fruit Escort Cards/Favors

Fall is the time for many of our favorite fruits. They are full of color and make an easy and beautiful favor or place card for your guests.

Wreath Place Cards

Bring the outdoor elements in and give a natural and organic feel to your tablescape by incorporating seasonal greens like magnolia leaves or make mini wreaths with things like fresh rosemary glued to wire. Simple yet charming!

Mini Tree Wedding Favors

Mini Trees dressed up with your personal touch is not only an adorable wedding favor that symbolizes growth and love, your guests will have something to remember your special day for years to come.

Ice-Carved Accents

Ice sculptures are a popular décor item for winter weddings. Ice-carved vases, hanging ice crystals that will reflect the light from the guest’s tables, frosted glass china, and enhance your wintery theme by adding snow-like accents, such as dusted, edible powder on the plates, or tables.

Velvet and Faux Fur Accessories

From shoes to gloves to tuxes, velvet is back in style for winter weddings! To add to your winter wonderland theme, add a faux fur white cape or coat to your wedding gown, or various colored- coats for your bridesmaids.
