2019 Wedding Trends

Kathryn Draney

Planning ahead for the coming year? There are some new trends popping up that you might want to incorporate into your wedding scheme! Here are some of the up-and-coming ideas that our Private Events Teams adore.

Cooler Color Palettes

Think blues, purples, and deeper greens! Weddings are trending toward the cooler side of the color wheel. After years of warm hues dominating the palettes, an influx of greenery is beginning to influence the overall tones of wedding color schemes. Pair your cool tones with other cool tones to achieve an elegant and modern appearance.

Metallic Shades

In 2019, we will see metallics become an increasingly popular trend. Incorporate silver and chrome or a mix & match of metallic shades. Straying from the gold and rose gold in favor of silver and steely vibes will help your metallics pair perfectly with those cooler colors.

Bold Wedding Parties

Both women and men are heading in the direction of bolder attire! Think WOW colors and dynamic accessories. Jewel toned suits paired with patterned ties are great combinations to make the men stand out. Richly hued bridesmaid dresses with details such as sequins or even prints and patterns will make your bride squad’s attire memorable.

Romantic Lighting

Lighting is beginning to stray from the standard white string lighting and overhead lamps in favor of softer, more romantic light. Think lots of candles and warmer, more yellowy lighting hues.

Interactive Guest Stations

We aren’t just talking about a photo booth! Creating ways for your guests to interact is a great method to ensure that everyone has fun all night long – even the non-dancers. Food displays like s’mores stations, lawn games, and activities will all elevate your event. Even a polaroid camera on each dinner table with instructions to snap specific images is a great way to get guests involved!

Edible Toppers for Drinks & Desserts

Personalized touches don’t go unnoticed! Incorporate your monogram into your food by crafting edible toppers for your desserts or signature drinks.

More Culinary Options

We’re stepping away from the standard buffet or plated meal! There are so many new and wonderful dinners that will give your guests plenty of options without breaking your bank. Small plates or tapas allow you to choose a large variety of foods without paying the price tag for entrees. Family style courses will have your guests sharing large plates at their own tables. Stations or food trucks allow guests to grab exactly the type of food they desire!
