Real Wedding - Seouri & Eugene

Kathryn Draney

Where did you meet?

We met at our church, St. Raphael Korean Catholic Center when we were located in a small warehouse in Downey, CA. We don’t know exactly when we met but we grew up together. Without our faith and our church community, we would not be where we are today. We’ve known each other for over 20 years and dated for close to 4 years before we tied the knot!

How did he propose?

Eugene proposed at Romo D’Italia in Tustin, CA where almost 50 of our loved ones were waiting to surprise me in a private room. He planned this surprise proposal after our church youth group camp by making me believe it was a going away dinner for our dear friends who recently got married and planned to move to Louisiana. I walked into the restaurant expecting a handful of friends for a goodbye dinner and walked into the private room filled with everyone I love (cameras pointed at me) with Eugene waiting for me in the front. He sang “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz (our song) and got down on one knee to ask the question, and before he could finish, I yelled “YES, I WILL”!!! It was the most romantic and perfect proposal that I could have ever imagined. I was also really impressed that he managed to keep it a secret for over a month!

What was the deciding factor of having your Wedding at Los Coyotes Country Club?

We have known about Los Coyotes since we live around the area and we knew we were going to have a big wedding. We searched for places nearby and Los Coyotes proximity to our church, the amazing reception venue and the all inclusive option (catering, tables, linens etc.) just made it so much easier for me to plan the wedding.

What were the highlights of the Ceremony?

The ceremony was at our church, St. Raphael Korean Catholic Center and since we were brought together under this community and grew in our friendship and eventually into love, it meant the world to be surrounded by our loved ones and community and promise ourselves to each other.

What were the highlights of the Reception?

The whole reception was magical. It felt like a dream throughout the day but I think the most amazing part was our room reveal before anyone else entered the room. This was the moment where I saw all our months of planning and vision come to life and I was overwhelmed by the fact that the person standing next to me was my husband. It was the beginning of what I knew would be a great party and we were just ready to get started!
