How did you meet?

“One of my good friends worked with him at Legoland.”

Tell us about the proposal!

Well, we had been talking about getting married for a while. I was rambling on and on one night about how we need to just do it. He left, came back with the ring, and said, “We can't talk about a wedding without you having a ring one your finger, so what do you say?”

What were the overall themes and/or concepts for your Big Day? Are there any personal touches that you felt were unique?

The overall theme for our wedding was to have it be more of a celebration with friends and family. After being together for 12 years, we owed it to ourselves and to our kids to have a wedding and seal the deal. As far as personal touches go, I think my bouquet was pretty special. I also used the embellishments that were taken off my dress during alterations and turned them into hair clips. We opted to not have a flower girl. And we wanted our day to be fun, stress free, and really about celebrating us after all these years. My brother-in-law married us and my grandpa gave me away in place of my dad, who passed away when I was 12. I also had the song "Finally" by CeCe Peniston play after we were pronounced husband and wife. That was a fun moment and everyone laughed when they heard it play.

I had a first look photo session with one of my bridesmaids - I had hidden the details of my dress from her. I had a separate first look with my husband and another with my son.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

My favorite moment of the day was our first look. The anticipation of how she would look in her dress with her hair and makeup done. I remember being so nervous, but excited!

- Jorell

My favorite part of the day was stepping out during dinner to capture pictures during sunset. It was a fun quiet moment for us to take a breath and soak it all in. We finally did it!
